Nestle Recalls Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s Meals Over Choking Risk

Nestle USA is recalling some frozen meals due to the possible presence of wood-like material, which could cause choking.

The recall affects certain Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s products with best-before dates from September 2025 to April 2026.

The recalled items include:

  • Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli

  • Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli

  • Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry

  • Stouffer’s Party Size Chicken Lasagna

The meals were sold at major U.S. retailers between September 2024 and March 2025.

This recall does not involve any other Lean Cuisine® or STOUFFER’S® products, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) wrote on its website.

The recall was issued after consumers found the foreign material in the food and reported the issue to the company. At least one person may have choked, The Associated Press reported.

"We are working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on this recall and will cooperate with them fully," Nestle wrote in a statement.
